Migration of John SUMMERS (JR) and Catherine Ann CRUM


1. John SUMMERS (JR), born 13 Mar 1786 in Orangeburgh, South Carolina; died 25 May 1846 in Leake County, Mississippi, son of John SUMMERS (SR). He married on 27 Oct 1814 Catherine Ann CRUM, born 12 Dec 1794 in Orangeburgh, South Carolina; died 16 Oct 1849, daughter of Jacob Abram CRUM and Mary FUNCHESS.

Notes for John SUMMERS (JR): Moved about the same time to Wilcox County, Alabama, just across the county line from Dutch Bend and after burying at least two children at the Snow Cemetery, continued on to Leake County, Mississippi.

Children of John SUMMERS (JR) and Catherine Ann CRUM were as follows:

a. Mary Rachel SUMMERS, born 11 Apr 1816 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 9 Feb 1840 in Lowndes County, Alabama.

b. Levicy Ann Catherine SUMMERS, born 30 Oct 1818 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina.

c. Margaret Lovelace SUMMERS, born 7 Mar 1821 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 23 Jun 1887 in Lowndes County, Alabama.. She married on 6 Apr 1841 James Darrell MOORER (SR), born 25 May 1813 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 23 May 1887 in Lowndes County, Alabama, son of William Henry MOORER and Rachel Valentine UTSEY. James Derrell Moorer, Sr. and his wife moved about 1845 to Farmersville where both died within a month of each other in 1887.

d. Aletha Caroline SUMMERS, born 30 Oct 1823 in Orangeburg County, South Carolina; died 20 Jun 1842 in Lowndes County, Alabama; buried in Snow Cem., Dutch Bend, Alabama. She married William RAMSEY.

e. Catherine Susan Glenn SUMMERS, born 1 Feb 1826 in Wilcox, Alabama; died 1889 in Carthage, Leake County, Mississippi. She married George W. COLLIER.

f. Daniel Jacob SUMMERS, born 8 Mar 1829 in Wilcox, Alabama; died 21 Jun 1887 in Leake County, Mississippi. He married in 1852 Nancy Catherine WHITE.

g. Sarah SUMMERS, born 3 Nov 1831 in Wilcox, Alabama; died abt 1860. She married William M. HALL.

h. Jane Funchess SUMMERS, born 5 Jun 1835 in Wilcox, Alabama; died 17 Jan 1899 in Carthage, Leake County, Mississippi. She married on 30 Jun 1857 Thomas Watts HARRIS.
