Migration of Andrew KAIGLER1. Andrew KAIGLER (SR), born 1730 in Eschelbach, Baden, Germany; died abt 1810 in Williamson Co., Tennessee He married abt 1750 in South Carolina Catherine CULPEPPER, born 1733; died abt 1805 in Williamson Co., Tennessee. Notes for Andrew KAIGLER (SR): Andrew Kaigler lived in Sandy Run, S. C. during the revolution, the records show that he was a Lt. in Col. Robert Goodwyn 's S.C. Regiment. Neither his entry nor date of separation therefrom is shown but his name appears on an undated pay account with the sum of 975 (pounds) opposite his name. He lived in Orangeburg during the Revolutionary War, but some years afterward he migrated to Georgia and later to Williamson County, Tenn. where he died about 1810. Children of Andrew KAIGLER (SR) and Catherine CULPEPPER were as follows: a. John KAIGLER, born abt 1751. He married Anne Carolyn LEITHER. b. Andrew KAIGLER (JR), born 1752; died 1821. He married in 1776 Catherine SAYLOR, born 1759; died bef 1818. Notes for Andrew KAIGLER (JR): Children of Andrew KAIGLER (JR) and Catherine SAYLOR were as follows: 1b1. John KAIGLER, born 8 Oct 1777 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died in Pike County, Mississippi. He married Rebecca Colson WELLS. The marriage between Rebecca Kaigler and John A. Brent. Rebecca was the daughter of John Kaigler b. 10-8-1777 in Orangeburgh Dist. who married Rebecca Colson Wells in S. C. This couple moved to Wilkinson and Pike Co. Ms. Rebecca's brothers, William W. and John D. married Catherine F. Kaigler, daughter of William Kaigler and Elizabeth Beasley. John Kaigler was the older brother of William Kaigler so Catherine married two of her first cousins. 1b2. William KAIGLER, born in Saxe Gotha, Orangeburg Dist., South Carolina; died 1829 in Woodville, Pike Co., Mississippi. He married on 15 Apr 1812 in Williamson Co., North Carolina Elizabeth H. BEASLEY, born abt 1794 in Williamson Co., North Carolina; died 1840 in Woodville, Pike Co., Mississippi. REF: Order of First Families of MS, 2nd Register, 1991. Resided in MS in 6 Nov 1815. William Kaigler was born in Saxe-Gotha, SC before 1790 and died at Woodville, MS in 1829. On 15 Apr 1812 in Williamson Co, NC he married Elizabeth H Beasley, born in Williamson Co, NC ca 1794, died at Woodville, MS 1n 1840. CHILDREN: Children of William Kaigler and Elizabeth Beasley. Elizabeth b. 6 Oct 1811, m. E B Loire. Another source gives CHILDREN: Children of William Kaigler and unnamed wife. Marthe Jane b. Woodwille, MS 12 Jun 1825 d. Leflore Co., MS 21 Aug 1908 married William Nathaniel Scales, Woodwille, MS abt 1846, he was born Rockingham Co, NC 1825 d. Columbus, OH 9 Apr 1864. 1b3. David KAIGLER, born 1790 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died 1830 in Pike County, Mississippi. He married on 8 Sep 1816 in Williamson County, North Carolina Nancy MILES, died 1826. Had dau. Isabella m. Hiram Meredith Norman. Their dau. Mattie Norman m. Thomas Simpson Curtis. David moved to Pike Co. so we see all three brothers moving to Mississippi. Just like his older brother, William, David married while they were living in Williamson Co., N. C. to Nancy Miles 9-8-1816. Apparently David followed William by a couple of years moving to Mississippi. c. Mary Ann KAIGLER, born abt 1752 in South Carolina; died 19 Aug 1837. She married (1) abt 1778 in South Carolina Godfrey KERSH (SR), died in Fort Moultrie, South Carolina, son of John George KERSH (SR); (2) William GEIGER, born 1754; died 1820. From about 1793 to maturity the Kersh children lived with William Geiger at 'Chalk Hill" plantation. Chalk Hill Plantation is remembered by the name of a voting precinct in the modern county. The house stood by "Dry Creek". d. Lavinia KAIGLER, born 1753; died aft 1800. e. George KAIGLER, born 1754 in South Carolina; died 1831. He married Elizabeth GEIGER, born 1770 in South Carolina; died 1856, daughter of John Conrad GEIGER and Barbara MURFF. Mrs. Elizabeth Geigler Kaigler gave her daughter Maria Kaigler a plantation near Montezuma, Ga. to which they moved. Montezuma is very close to Ft. Valley, Georgia, the residence of John J. Kaigler. f. Michael KAIGLER, born 1758 in South Carolina; died 14 Aug 1814. He married in 1787 in South Carolina Elizabeth SAYLOR, born 1769 in Orangeburgh, South Carolina; died 3 Jul 1844 in Randolph County, Georgia, daughter of Jacob SAYLOR and Elizabeth [---]. g. James KAIGLER. He married Mary [---] . h. William KAIGLER. A William Kaigler is mentioned in the will of one Daniel Fredrick (as a witness) signed Oct. 3, 1854. William Kaigler deeded land in Wilkinson County Mississippi in 1815. i. Elizabeth KAIGLER.
