Notes for Hans WALTER: 1736 Feb 20 Surv. Lot 260 + 300 acres. Arrive ship Samuel 13th of July 1735, nine weeks after leaving Rotterdam, Holland, Council Journal 20 Feb 1736, 17 Sep 1736 (OGS News Vol. I, pg. 13). Four Holes Swamp. St. Phillips Parish Records Not to be confused with Mary Rumph Walter that married John Walter in Walterboro, South Carolina. Children of Hans WALTER and Mary [---] were as follows: a. Hans Hanil WALTERS, born abt 1730 in Switzerland; died bef 1794 in Burke County, Georgia. He married Anna Catherine DUSSEIGN. b. Margaret WALTERS, died in St. George Parish, Effingham County, Georgia. The Way it Was with our Ancestors, Markham - Cobia, Waters - Gilbert (1982)Margaret Waters, a daughter of Hans Walter received 8 pounds, 10 shellings from the Colonial Government of Georgia for nursing Mary Hallbook in the smallpox in March 1765. c.
