1. James H. FANNING, born 28 Nov 1739; died 4 Nov 1803 in Greene County, Georgia, son of James FANNING and Elizabeth [unknown]. He married on 13 Oct 1776 in St. George Parish, Effingham Co., Georgia Elizabeth SAFFOLD, born 12 Nov 1748 in Virginia; died 30 Mar 1814 in St. George Parish, Effingham Co., Georgia, daughter of William SAFFOLD and Temperance WHITING.

Children of James H. FANNING and Elizabeth SAFFOLD were as follows:

a. Ann FANNING, born 1769; died 1817. She married Littleton MAPP.

b. Sarah FANNING, born 1771; died 1815. She married James ALLISON.

c. William Y. FANNING, born 22 Oct 1773. He married on 19 Jan 1807 Catherine MARTIN.

d. Joseph Decker FANNING, born abt 1774; died 1817. He married Betsey LOWE.

e. Isham S. FANNING, born 1778; died 1817. He married Patsey PORTER.

f. John H. FANNING, born 1780. He married Mary WRIGHT.

g. James W. FANNING, born 1782. He married Anne P. FLETCHER.

h. Jephthah FANNING, born 1785. He married Katie PORTER.

i. Eliza FANNING, born 1787. She married Stephen BISHOP.

j. Abram B. FANNING, born 1789. He married Jane WILLIAMSON.
