1. John Greening BRUMBY, born 10 May 1807 in Sumter District, South Carolina; died 11 Apr 1889 in St. George Parish, Effingham Co., Georgia, son of Thomas BRUMBY and Susanna GREENING. He married Sarah Catherine REMLEY, born 16 Oct 1808 in Lewisburg, West Virginia; died 25 Feb 1863 in St. George Parish, Effingham Co., Georgia.

Children of John Greening BRUMBY and Sarah Catherine REMLEY were as follows:

a. Caroline Virginia BRUMBY , born 20 Dec 1835 in Mississippi; died 24 Sep 1915 in Memphis, Tennessee. She married on 15 Dec 1853 in Holmes Co., Mississippi Benjamin Hardy WELLONS, born 19 Jul 1827 in Johnston County, North Carolina; died 19 Aug 1870 in Goodman, Mississippi, son of James WELLONS and Cynthia SANDERS.
