Migrations of the Jacob RUPLE family

1. Jacob RUPLE, born abt 1785 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina; died abt 1839 in Lowndes County, Mississippi, son of Martin ROPPEL. He married unknown.

Notes for Jacob RUPLE: Jacob lived in Amelia Parish, South Carolina about 6 miles from Martin. First appeared on the 1818 tax list for St. Matthews Parish assessed for 747 acres. He served in the War of 1812 in Juhan's Battalion as well as the 1st Regiment (Youngblood's) as part of the SC Militia. According to a special census for Lowndes Co. Miss in 1837, Jacob had migrated there with his sons Martin and Emanuel. Jacob not in the 1840 census but sons Martin and Emanuel were still there.
DNA links Jacob's descendants with the Orangeburg group of known descendants of John J. Ruple, the immigrant Martin Roppel’s oldest son.

Children of Jacob RUPLE were as follows:

a. Martin RUPLE, born 31 Jan 1806 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina, died in Oktibbeha County Mississippi. Martin acquired 80 acres of land between 1833 and 1834 REF: land office in Columbus (Lowndes Co.) Mississippi.

Notes for Martin RUPLE: Martin RUPLE's estate was probated in Oktibbeha County Mississippi (just west of Lowndes) in the mid 1850s.

b. Emanuel RUPLE, born 10 Sept 1807 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina, died in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. He married in Columbus, Lowndes Co. Mississippi Asenath EVANS. Move to Bossier Parish Louisiana abt 1848 and then to Claiborne Parish, LA.

Notes for Emanuel RUPLE: Emanuel RUPLE and William David RUPLE shared in the estate of their older brother Martin from Oktibbeha County Mississippi (just west of Lowndes).

c. William David RUPLE, born 26 June 1809 in Orangeburg District, South Carolina. He married, in Lowndes County Alabama,N.V. Jane MOORER, born abt. 1811 died after 1860.

Notes for William David RUPLE: David and Jane Ruple are shown in the 1850 and 1860 censuses for Wilcox County Alabama. Children of William David RUPLE and N.V. Jane MOORER as shown in the census records were as follows:
1c1.Patrick RUPLE, born abt. 1834; 1c2 Rachel RUPLE, born abt. 1836; 1c3.James RUPLE, born abt. 1838; 1c4 Margaret A. RUPLE, born abt. 1848; 1c4 J. M. RUPLE (male), born abt. 1851; 1c5 M. C. RUPLE (female), born abt. 1855. The 1860 census also shows a 21 year old W. C. Ruple in David's household, listed as Overseer.
David Ruple is shown deeding land back and forth in Lowndes County, Mississippi between he and his brothers Martin and Emanuel when David was living in Wilcox County, Alabama. William David RUPLE and Emanuel RUPLE shared in the estate of their older brother Martin from Oktibbeha County Mississippi (just west of Lowndes).

d. Clarasy RUPLE, born in Orangeburg District, South Carolina.
